Waiting..

It's half-term this week, so there are no groups to attend. I've managed to get out Monday and Tuesday mornings, so I'm taking this morning off. I'm currently reminding myself how Morella's Forest sounds. Now that I have a fair amount of space on my computer, I'm putting things into .ogg files so I don't have to reach for my cd collection every time I want to listen to something. My son gets to have immunisations next Tuesday afternoon just after my mom arrives.

We been playing games with our kids. They already knew about Snakes and Ladders and the idea behind playing dominoes, so we introduced Uno and Mexican Train dominoes. Both of those games went over well. There's also a Duplo building game they enjoy playing in addition to the usual memory games. It's nice to have simple games to play with my kids.

B.B.E vs. A.B.E.

Before I'd seen Brittas Empire, I was curious about it. After I've seen it, I'm not sure I'll buy the DVD's. It's rather amusing for the first three episodes, though my husband would have been cringing rather badly during most of the episodes. ''Gordon thinks he's the oil for the well-oiled machine of the world, so he pours himself liberally all over everyone. In reality, he's the grit.'' That's an accurate picture of Gordon Brittas if I've ever heard one. Looking forward to the next few episodes for some mild entertainment. Red Dwarf is better by far. Series eight out soon!

It came!

Two words: Brittas Empire

Again?

Well, my son's temperature was normal from Thursday afternoon. It's going back up now. Great. Just what I wanted to do this week.. be stuck at home with one cranky and one ill child. Funny... that's what I did last week. Or I'll have two sick and cranky children this week. This week started off okay, but it seems to be going downhill so far.

Interesting service last evening at church. No pianist, so it was just a guitarist, two vocalists and a floutist. I don't really like having the service downstairs because there's no fullback and I cannot hear myself singing. The floutist was slightly out of tune, and I was hoping I was in tune since she was playing in my ear and I couldn't hear the guitar or what I was singing. Ah, well. The next three weeks are upstairs where I'll be able to hear myself again.

Joseph

Need to put Lara Croft back through the post so I can receive the other DVD. Of course, I have until the 13th of February to do this, which is the end of the 'month.' Still working on getting music sorted out on my computer. This is a good opportunity to go through all my cds and see what I really want to keep. Currently, I'm listening to a Choir cd called 'Love Songs and Prayers.' It's a compilation.

I finally managed to find the movie 'Joseph' (with Ben Kingsley) on DVD, and I received it today in the post along with 'The Princess Bride.' My son seems to be fine as of yesterday afternoon. Both of my children are playing with Duplo and are content to let me sort out music. I'd better get sorting.

Tomb Raider 2

Well, if I had been looking for Chris Barrie getting more screen time, I would have been sorely disappointed. I was; however, the big baddy was another actor I appreciate, Ciaran Hinds. I enjoyed his screen time, but he was much better as the dashing Captain Frederick Wentworth. Just thinking about that makes me want to watch "Persuasion" again. Next on the list is the first season of "Brittas Empire."

In other news, my son has another case of high temperature for several days with no other symptoms. Tomorrow morning will see us going to the doctor if the fever is still going strong. My daughter seems unaffected, and neither of them seem to have chicken pox, which is the disease they have been exposed to (just about two-and-a-half weeks ago) most recently.

I've been moving my WAV files from one computer to the next and bemoaning the lack of decent software and the plethora of pretty-faced junk that has been installed on this machine.
