Chris Barrie, Cary Grant, and a Knight in Shining Armor

Having been on a Chris Barrie kick, I rented "Tomb Raider" recently. Interesting film, though not much screen time for the actor. "Tomb Raider 2" is on its way, and perhaps it will give him a bit more time. I was interested in the other information about the film, especially how the main actress was trained and did all her own stunts. I imagine if I had three months of intensive training as she did, I would probably end up looking pretty similar (except for the hair color, obviously). Or at least I would be as in shape as I could possibly be.

I also am going to check out "Brittas Empire" fairly soon. Other things on my To-Do List are getting a place at a nursery for my son, copying some more files onto cd from my old computer to the new one, and listing the movies and albums I'm behind in purchasing.

To TiNA - I saw that The Bachelor and the Bobby Sockser is out on region 1 DVD! I'm going to have my mom get it and bring it over for me so we can all watch it here. It's not available in the UK, yet.

Rar!

Nice new computers.. nice connection.. much better. Now, I can read what's going on in my friends' lives. Several trivial things occur to me, but the most important thing I can think to update this with is to say that this weekend was a weekend away with several people from church. My kids weren't very happy to go to their activities, but after those times passed, the day was fine. It was nice. Not super, but it was okay. My brain is full of network and computer bits and pieces, so I'd better take myself to bed before I ramble about nothing.

Just to comment on the photograph on my profile... it's Rimmer (from Red Dwarf) when he gets the holovirus. The puppet is Mr Flibble. My husband and I have been laughing pretty hard at season seven of Red Dwarf. There are some classics - Just when you think you're down, you go right back up again.

Life in the fast lane

I finally get my internet connection back up to scratch so I browse a site for reduced price computers, and the site is down. Brilliant. All the groups started up this week - Tuesday morning Bible Study (with nursery) and Wednesday morning toddler/parent group. I once again led the music for the toddler group - not my favourite activity, but it was nice to see most of the children actually participating for once! As usual, I've been coordinating the music for Sunday evening (I get a song list and have to rehearse them with the other musicians before the service) since the 1st of January, and it looks like I'll be doing it every week from now until Kingdom Come (perhaps that will be soon!). I enjoy the singing part, but I'm not too keen on the organizing/preparing part. I'd rather show up and sing harmonies (or play harmonies on the violin).

Let's see. There's a wedding this weekend to attend and several loads of laundry to get done. I think the laundry is conspiring to take over the house! It might actually succeed if I'm not careful. Time to wake my daughter from her nap or else she won't sleep tonight.
